We have a sweet challenge at Winter Wonderland - show us some candy!!

Good morning all

Hope this scheduled post works today! - my record with blogger this week hasn't been too good
and as it's Friday 13th......

I'll be travelling around and about somewhere
on my way to Florida on my hollies!

Our challenge at Winter Wonderland this week is

Christmas Candy

It's a perfect one for me this year as I've got a bit of a thing about gingerbread men!
I treat myself to this lovely die from Tonic to make some cute Christmas cards together with the accessories set from Tim Holtz Crazy birds stamps to add the hats and candy canes
- the perfect ingredients for a Christmas candy card!
When I get back from my hollies I intend to do a bit of a batch craft of this card
- quite easy to do - well except for backing the gingerbread men in white - which turned out a whole lot more complicated than I thought!!

We have a fab prize as always at Winter Wonderland challenge
from our sponsor this week

Crafty Ribbons

The prize is a £10 voucher to spend in their store

Here's what I did....

Die cut gingerbreadman Tonic Roccoco die

and little houses and village buildings

Here is a gift bag with tags that I made with 2 of the images

and the tag is Skating Rocky Raccoon - available HERE

I coloured the images with my Spectrum Noir pens and added a lot of glamour dust to the house  to give it lots of sparkle .  I then made corners out of a Marianne decorative star strip and added an extra gift tag - just for good measure!

I'm off on my hollies this week to Florida - to visit all those fun places and to do my Christmas shopping at the sales!  My daughter and her family are also coming with us and we are so looking forward to going to Mickeys Christmas Party at the Magic Kingdom with our Grandson Jacob who will be 4 next month - just a perfect age for Santa and Mickey and all those other fantasies that are just wonderful through the eyes of a small child.  I just hope he enjoys it as much as we will!!

But I digress - I decided to make a Christmas card for this challenge using the cute image

Are You Ready My Friend available here

just a perfectly lovely image of Santa and Rudolf getting ready for their travels on Santa's sleigh on Christmas Eve - and I even found his little sleigh to add to the corner of the card!

You can choose any form of travel for this challenge - it could be a form of transport such as a car or train, walking or running or even going on hoilday or perhaps as I have chosen Santa's travels!

Just because I can....

Good morning all

And - happy guy Fawkes day to all my UK buddies - to be honest I forgot it was Guy Fawkes day today until I saw it on another blog this morning.  Aren't we a funny lot in the UK - having a special celebration day to remember when a man named Guy Fawkes tried to blow up the houses of Parliament - and all therein! - and from my school days as I recall what they did to him when the plot was foiled - ooo I shudder to think about that!!

Anyway I digress - I 'm posting today just because i can! - no challenges or have -to-makes....
I seem to have a whole queue of cards and projects that I haven't blogged so thought I would share  a set of card samples that I made for Crafter's Companion Spectrum Noir a couple of months back for one of Sheena Douglass TV shows, using the lovely Perfect Partners Victorian Floral stamps and dies available HERE

The first two are from the bluebell set which is a great set because you get two for the price of one! - the flowers and leaves allow you to make either a bluebell or lily of the valley.  I really loved the lily of the valley when it was finished, although obviously just a white flower I also heat embossed it with a shimmer embossing powder and shaped the flowers with a ball tool.  It looked so pretty.

the last one was probably my favourite - the sweet william, Probably because I love these flowers in real life, always so pretty, make a lovely display - and last for ages!

I coloured the flowers with my Spectrum Noir pens and also coloured the centura pearl card in the first two cards to match in blue and green so they toned perfectly with the colours of the flowers and leaves.  I used collall 3d glue gel to create dimension in the flowers - it's great for this type of project.

It takes me back to summer sharing these today! - wouldn't a nice light, warm sunny day be nice!

Thank you for calling in to see me today

Hugs

Die cuts and / or punches challenge at Fab'n'Funky

Hi all

OOO! - I'm late again - can't beleive what I did! - I had my card all ready and left the glitter to dry on the snowflke before sticking it on (my favourite chunky glitter jewels) - when I went to stick it on i must have cut my finger on the sharp glitter and ended up with smears of blood all over my image - how can that happen!!  I had to reprint and recolour the image  - how annoying lol.
