A traditional Mother's Day card

Good morning all

I'm sure I don't need to remind anyone that Mother's Day is fast approaching
If your mother is anything like mine - she likes a traditional card
flowers, pretty, pink - you get the picture.

So I've made this card as a little inspiration for a traditional pretty
Mothers Day card

the inside

I made the shape of the card by simply folding the square 7 inch card back at just above the half way mark and decorated with pretty papers, and die cuts.  I used collall 3d glue gel to glue it (after adding the papers) as I didn't want it to lie flat, but instead created a slightly dimensional fold
My main inspiration was the Die'sire word dies, I find them so useful, you can make them the central focus of any card really then just add embellishments.

What I did.....

Papers,- Little Angels and Sara's country garden from Sara's Signature collections from Crafter's Companion
Embossing folder - Floral swirls from Sara's signature Floral delights by Crafter's companion
Dies  Words Die'sire essentials female words and words of emdearment sets from Crafter's Companion
Flowers - Heartfelt Creations from Butterfly Medley collection (dies and stamps)
           Frame  - Spellbinders nestabilities Majesty
leaves - Memory box fabulous phlox
flower centres - floral punch from woodware
Glues used, Collall 3d glue gel and all purpose glue
Flowers embossed with white detail embossing powder and washed over with Ranger Perfect Pearls in pink gumball

I hope I've given you some inspiration for Mother's Day cards - I'm sure most mums  love flowers for Mothers's Day

Challenges im entering with this card

ocean deep challenge - flowers everywhere
southern girls - use dies (6/4)

Foils aren't just for cards!!

Good morning all

I'm sharing two more samples made with the lovely new foils

They're from Crafter's Companion and are launching on Hochanda TV tomorrow

They,re really  so easy to use and you can create really beautiful effects using them as just an accent or as the full focus of the card

I used them in a mixed media effect on this tag in an assortment of the lovely colours
just look at that electric blue!!

it was made with a Tim Holtz tag coloured with Distress inks - in fossilised amber, peacock feathers and abandoned coral.  The rest was just an assortment of transfers and a couple of die cuts in black card with little enamel dots.  Mounted onto black card it really makes the colours pop

My second make is a very traditional type card
made entirely with the Graceful Butterflies transfer set

I simply applied a transfer to the side of the white card and this time used just the silver foil, the butterfly is also made with the transfer, fussy cut and I doubled up a smaller one onto a larger one for a 3D effect.   The lovely sentiment is also a part of the transfer set

This is what I used (all from Crafter's Companion)

card - graceful butterflies transfers
          silver foil
          Downton Abbey Ornate oval frame
          Centura pearl card

tag - Transfers - from the sets -  Lavish lace, graceful butterflies, blooming bouquets,
         opulent flourishes
Foils - Electric blue, raspberry pink, gold

Don't miss these - they're gorgeous!!

Don't you just love a bit of foiling!

Good morning all

We've been really busy these last few weeks on the Crafter's Companion team - so many lovely new crafty goodies have been introduced to the range - there's going to be some lovely cards from all you crafty people one you get your hands o the latest ones on offer next week!

I'm here to tease you with a couple of sneak peeks of the fabulous new foils and transfers which will enable you to make fabulous foiled cards with nothing more than the aid of a lolly stick - no more expensive foiling machines or complicated glues - they really are fab

It's really difficult to catch the shine in a still photograph but I deliberately created the shiney spot on this first card i the fabulous electric blue foil using two of the borders to create the accent down the centre and the sentiment it makes a very quick but effective card

This card is just as shiny but not so easy to see it here! - this one is inthe lovely raspberry pink foil
it's a whole background transfer sheet, the sentiment andan additional tiny butterfly - even the tiny one would make a fab addition to your cards!!

They're being launched on Hochanda on Tuesday and will be available at Crafter's Companion on line and i store shortly afterwards - so don't forget to watch to see everythng that's in the sets - there are lots of different ones and a huge range of lovely colours too

I just want to foil everything now!!

Have a great weekend - as for me I'm babysitting my grand childen while their parents are at a no children allowed wedding! - no crafting for me then lol
